Beading Needle Information Beading needles are essential for bead weaving projects, the eye of a normal sewing needle will not pass through the centre of a seed bead. Made from stainless steel they are strong and flexible. It is not unusual for a needle to bend and curve, the finer the needle the better the bends.
The eye of the beading needle is very fine and the width is in line with the shaft of the needle, this enables smooth passes through seed beads, sometimes repeatedly.
Size 12 is the average size, suitable for most projects. Size 10 is easier to thread and if you are using bigger beads then why make life harder for yourself choose this one.
Size 13 is essential when using size 15 seeds and a size 15 needle is used when a 13 is just too big!
Probably a good idea to have one of each..... just in case.
